PGA of America, National Golf Course Owners Association Form Alliance Through PGA PerformanceTrac Service
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The PGA of America and the National Golf Course Owners Association have formed an alliance to collect golf facility rounds-played and financial operating information for the industry under the brand “PGA PerformanceTrak in cooperation with the NGCOA.”
PGA PerformanceTrak, The PGA of America’s complimentary research service to support PGA Professionals and their employers, will team with the NGCOA’s Financial Benchmark Program, which surveys and reports on key operational metrics by local market.
“We are pleased to join forces with the National Golf Course Owner’s Association to present a more comprehensive data collection process that will help improve the business of our members,” said PGA of America President Brian Whitcomb. “This partnership will provide our members with a larger pool of analytical information necessary to assist them in making solid business decisions.”
The PGA of America will work with the NCGOA and its research partner, Golf Datatech, in a collaborative effort to develop a central database that focuses on golf fee revenue and monthly rounds-played and supports detailed reporting at the local level.
“The combination of these two programs provides an even more robust set of data to support better decision-making across all functions,” said NCGOA Chief Executive Officer Mike Hughes. “We’re delighted to partner with The PGA to help strengthen our members’ businesses and the game through this alliance.”
PGA PerformanceTrak currently targets approximately 8,600 golf facilities with nine holes or more with a PGA Professional employed, and receives some 1,800 rounds played and 800 monthly golf fee revenue responses.
More than 600 facilities in markets throughout the U.S. participate in the NCGOA’s Financial Benchmark Program, which launched in 2005. These facilities when combined with rounds played data collected by Golf Datatech account for more than 1,500 participating facilities per month.
